The Business of Biomass
NEWBio team members at the University of Vermont completed the first two [of many] case studies showcasing Northeast U.S. businesses successfully engaged in the "business of biomass". Take a look at the write-ups for Ernst Conservation Seed (headquartered in Meadville, PA) and Terra Green Energy, LLC (in McKean County, PA0. Ernst develops and produces a variety of native grasses that are used in the practical production of biomass products. Terra Green has developed a torrefaction process that converts biomass into an energy-dense carbon carrier that can then be used in existing coal-fired power plants.
