Extension Programs: Willow Equipment Access Program

Equipment

About

A major barrier to large-scale bioenergy crop production is a lack of available planting and harvest equipment.  The project is making available to prospective willow growers, specialty equipment for planting and harvesting willow. The equipment will leased from Double A Willow to loan to growers or custom operators growing and harvesting perennial energy crops and provide equipment training.

At present an Egedal Energy Planter is available for loan (see photo below). The growers will only need to cover transportation, training, and operating costs. For more information contact Dennis Rak at Double A Willow (dennis.rak@doubleavineyards.com) or Michael Jacobson at mgj2@psu.edu.
